move to a new houseA few things we know for sure:

  1.  Everyone is busier these days.
  2.  Today there is more anxiety over the effects of a longer-than-expected Pandemic and a crazier-than-usual housing market.
  3.  People need help moving for all sorts of reasons.

At Transition Liquidation Services, for over 20 years, we’ve been helping the elderly downsize and move to senior living communities using a process that is finely tuned and as stress-free as possible for all concerned. We are recently finding that we are called upon for our move management services for others who need assistance when transitioning to a new home.

“We are selling our house and I need to de-clutter!”

Getting organized is the first step, but often the hardest. There is a need to de-clutter closets; donate, sell, or dispose of no longer needed furniture and household goods; and “stage” the home for sale. More and more, as move managers, we are called upon to work under the direction of professional home stagers or realtors to increase the likelihood of a quick sale at the price desired.

“I have too much to do and I can’t do it alone.”

Moving to a new home – whether across the country or right around the corner – can be overwhelming. There are many tasks that need to be accomplished and just thinking about them can be emotionally and physically exhausting. More and more, families and single individuals trying to tackle all the details while maintaining a full-time job or family responsibilities are calling upon the assistance of a move manager.

“The divorce is final and we need to clean out the home.”

When a divorce is pending or finalized, it is necessary to remove one or both of the spouse’s belongings and make decisions on who gets what. Doing this during an already stressful time can be completely overwhelming. The timing is rarely optimal so things must be accomplished on a set schedule. More and more, couples who are divorcing call upon a move manager to assist in making this a less stressful transition.

What used to be thought of as a service for seniors who are transitioning is more and more considered as a necessity for anyone who is moving to a new phase in their life.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Transitions Liquidation Services has the skills and expertise to deal hands-on with all the details required for a successful, stress-free move. TLS has planned, organized, coordinated, and completed over 2,000 moves for clients experiencing varied transitions.

Today’s challenges mean dealing with supply chain issues and the need to be able to schedule moving companies on short notice. TLS has a well-established relationship with Gentle Giant Moving and Storage, with whom we reserve moving days to be able to satisfy clients who require specific move dates. We’ll help negotiate the changing scene of charitable donations of furnishings and household items and the disposition of those items remaining. Our services can include everything from planning the move to arranging furnishings and décor in the new home.

Today, move managers are a necessary and often-called-upon partner in the process of selling a home, moving to a new home, and unpacking to begin the next phase of life.
